## What we cover

Whether you're a sole trader, partnership, or limited company, we tailor your accounts to fit your business structure and make the most of simplified reporting where you qualify.

### Limited Company Accounts

Full statutory accounts prepared and filed with Companies House and HMRC, including corporation tax returns.

### Sole Trader & Partnership Returns

Self-assessment tax returns with profit and loss statements that reflect your actual trading position.

### Small Entity & Micro-Entity Accounts

Simplified reporting for eligible businesses, reducing disclosure requirements and keeping things straightforward.

### Corporation Tax Compliance

CT600 submissions, tax calculations, and correspondence with HMRC to keep you compliant and efficient.

## How we prepare your annual accounts

Every limited company in the UK must file accounts with Companies House and a tax return with HMRC each year. We handle both, working from your day-to-day records to produce accurate financial statements that meet all statutory requirements. Whether you're a retail shop in Cathays, a salon in Pontypridd, or a trades business in the Vale, we make sure your accounts reflect what's actually happening in your business.

We start by reviewing your bookkeeping, reconciling bank statements, and tidying up any loose ends. Then we prepare your profit and loss account, balance sheet, and any supporting notes required by law. If you qualify as a small or micro-entity, we'll use the simplified reporting rules to keep your filings lean and your costs down.

> We file every set of accounts on time, every time.

More information

Once your accounts are ready, we calculate your corporation tax liability, complete your CT600 return, and submit everything to Companies House and HMRC before the deadlines. You'll receive a full copy of your accounts in plain English, along with a summary of what you owe and when it's due. No jargon, no surprises.

Many of our clients in Cardiff and South Wales come to us after struggling with spreadsheets or missing filing windows. We've worked with everyone from one-person consultancies to growing teams of fifteen, and we know that most small business owners would rather spend their time with customers than buried in financial paperwork. That's exactly why we're here.

### What's included

- Reconciliation of all income and expenditure
- Preparation of statutory profit and loss account and balance sheet
- Assessment for small or micro-entity status
- Filing with Companies House (usually within nine months of year-end)
- Corporation tax computation and CT600 submission to HMRC
- Advice on any tax-saving opportunities we spot along the way

We also keep an eye out for common issues like disallowable expenses, dividend planning, and pension contributions, because getting those right can make a real difference to your tax bill. If something needs clarifying, we'll pick up the phone rather than send a confusing email.

Whether this is your first set of accounts or your fiftieth, we treat every client the same: with care, clarity, and a proper understanding of what it takes to run a small business in South Wales.

## Before you book

Here are the questions we hear most often about annual accounts and what to expect when you work with us.

When do I need to file my accounts?

Limited companies must file accounts with Companies House within nine months of their financial year-end, and submit a corporation tax return to HMRC within twelve months. We'll confirm your specific deadlines when we start working together.

What records do I need to provide?

We'll need your bank statements, sales invoices, purchase receipts, payroll records if you have staff, and details of any loans or assets. If your bookkeeping is behind, we can help catch it up as part of the service.

Can you prepare accounts if I'm a sole trader?

Yes. Sole traders don't file with Companies House, but you'll still need accounts for your self-assessment tax return. We prepare those too, tailored to your trading structure.

What happens if I qualify as a micro-entity?

You'll benefit from simplified reporting rules, meaning shorter accounts with fewer disclosures. We'll assess your eligibility and use the lightest-touch filing option available to you.

How much does it cost?

Fees depend on your business size, structure, and how organised your records are. We'll give you a fixed quote after a free initial chat, so there are no surprises.

Do you only work with businesses in Cardiff?

Most of our clients are based in Cardiff and across South Wales, but we work with small businesses anywhere in the UK. Local knowledge helps, but it's not essential.

What if I've missed a filing deadline?

Get in touch as soon as possible. We can't turn back the clock, but we can help you file late accounts, deal with any penalties, and put systems in place to avoid it happening again.
