How we handle your corporation tax return
Every limited company in the UK must file a corporation tax return (CT600) within 12 months of its accounting year-end, and pay any tax due within nine months and one day. We prepare your year-end accounts, calculate your corporation tax liability, and file everything with HMRC on time. You get a clear breakdown of what you owe and why, with no surprises.
Our process starts with your bookkeeping records. We review your transactions, prepare your statutory accounts, and identify any allowable deductions or reliefs you're entitled to claim. Once your accounts are finalised, we calculate your corporation tax, complete the CT600 form, and submit it electronically to HMRC. You receive copies of everything, along with a simple summary of your tax position.
We make sure you're compliant, and we make sure you're not overpaying.
More information
Many Cardiff businesses we work with are sole traders who've recently incorporated, or small limited companies filing their first or second return. If you're new to corporation tax, we walk you through the process step by step. If you've been filing for years, we simply take the workload off your plate and keep you informed at every stage.
What's included
- Preparation of your statutory accounts (profit and loss, balance sheet, notes)
- Calculation of your corporation tax liability
- Completion and electronic filing of your CT600 return
- Identification of allowable expenses, capital allowances, and reliefs
- Advice on estimated quarterly payments if applicable
- Confirmation of payment deadlines and amounts due
We also advise on tax-efficient strategies throughout the year, not just at filing time. That might mean optimising your salary and dividend split, timing capital expenditure to maximise allowances, or planning ahead for R&D tax credits if your business qualifies.
Filing on time is non-negotiable, and so is getting your tax bill right.
Whether you're based in Cardiff city centre, Whitchurch, Penarth, or anywhere across the Vale and South Wales, we work with local businesses in all sectors. Retail, hospitality, trades, healthcare, professional services: we understand the tax rules that apply to your industry and structure your return accordingly.
If you've been managing your own returns and want to hand them over, or you're switching from another accountant, we make the transition straightforward. We'll review your prior filings, take over from your current year-end, and make sure everything's in order going forward. No fuss, no jargon, just reliable support when you need it.
