Hannah Simpson FCCA
Director, HLS Accounting
"We do the numbers so you don't have to."
A small business champion to her core, Hannah is the Director and founder of HLS Accounting, a Cardiff-based Chartered Certified Accountancy firm supporting small businesses across South Wales.
Education and qualification
Hannah graduated from Swansea University before going on to qualify with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 2017. She is now a Fellow of the ACCA (FCCA), the senior designation awarded to members with significant post-qualification experience.
Background
Before founding HLS Accounting, Hannah spent ten years working in small, family-run accountancy practices across South Wales. That decade of hands-on experience shaped her approach: a deep understanding of how small businesses actually work, the pressures owners face day to day, and the kind of practical, plain-English advice that genuinely moves the needle.

Founding HLS Accounting
In 2022, Hannah set up HLS Accounting with a clear focus: to support small businesses on their growth plans. The firm was built around the idea that small business owners deserve more than once-a-year compliance work. They need a trusted partner who understands their numbers, their goals, and the local market they operate in.
Hannah's positioning is straightforward. Growing businesses often reach a point where the day-to-day finances are eating into time better spent serving customers, hiring well, or building the business. The answer isn't always another full-time hire. HLS Accounting exists to take the numbers off your plate, so you can get back to running the business you set out to build.
Chair of ACCA Wales
Hannah is the current Chair of ACCA Wales, the Welsh arm of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. In this role she represents Wales on the international stage through the accountancy sector, advocating for the profession and contributing to its development both at home and abroad.
Professional qualifications
- FCCA (Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
- Chair, ACCA Wales
- BA, Swansea University
