Rhian spent more than three decades at John Smart Chartered Accountants, a long-standing South Wales practice, where she built deep relationships with clients and developed broad expertise across the full spectrum of small business accountancy work. Few accountants can match that level of continuity, and it shows in the depth of her client knowledge and the consistency of her work.

In November 2023, HLS Accounting acquired John Smart Chartered Accountants, and Rhian joined the team along with the clients she had served for many years. For those clients, it meant the firm name on the letterhead changed, but the trusted face looking after their numbers stayed exactly the same.
Approach
Rhian is the main point of contact for her clients on VAT and bookkeeping. After 30 years in practice, she understands that what most small business owners want is straightforward: someone who knows their business, answers the phone, and gets things right first time. That is what she delivers.
Her long tenure also means she has seen the accountancy profession evolve through multiple eras of regulation, from paper based VAT returns to Making Tax Digital. That perspective is invaluable when guiding clients through the latest round of compliance changes.
