How we help you improve profitability
Profit improvement planning is a structured review of your business finances to find realistic, practical ways to increase what you keep at the end of each month. We work with small businesses and sole traders across Cardiff and South Wales who know they could be doing better but are not sure where to start. This is not about cutting corners or chasing unrealistic targets. It is about understanding your income, your costs, and your market well enough to make informed decisions that stick.
The process takes place over several weeks and involves three clear stages. First, we spend four to five days on-site or working closely with you to review every income source and expense item in detail. That includes invoices, contracts, supplier agreements, and a look at what your competitors are doing. We talk to your team, verify the numbers, and build a complete picture of where your money comes from and where it goes.
We only get paid when you see results from the recommendations you choose to implement.
More information
About two weeks after the research phase, we present a detailed report with conservative, practical recommendations. Everything is explained in plain English. We show you what we have found, what we think you could change, and what the impact might be. You are in control throughout. We will never push you to accept a recommendation you are not comfortable with, and our fee is based only on the improvements you actually put into action.
If you decide to move forward, we support you through implementation. That might mean helping you negotiate better terms with a supplier, reviewing a contract, or simply being available as you make changes. Follow-up continues for as long as you need it, usually two to three weeks after the final decisions are made. We stay involved because we want the improvements to work in practice, not just on paper.
Why Cardiff businesses choose us
We understand the South Wales business landscape. Whether you run a salon in Pontypridd, a trade business in the Vale, or a retail shop in central Cardiff, we know the challenges you are facing. Rising costs, competitive pricing pressure, and the constant juggle of keeping customers happy while staying profitable. Our approach is built around your specific circumstances: your customer base, your market position, and your business culture.
Because we are paid on a contingency basis, our interests are completely aligned with yours. We only benefit when you do. That keeps the advice objective, and it means we work hard to find improvements that are conservative, fair, and genuinely achievable. If your own valuation of a recommendation differs from ours, we use yours. The relationship is built on trust, not aggressive sales targets.
Many of the businesses we work with have tried to improve profitability on their own but found it overwhelming. When you are in the middle of running the business, it is hard to step back and see the whole picture. We bring the outside perspective, the time, and the experience to do that properly. And because we have worked with salons, tradespeople, clinics, and hospitality businesses across the region, we know what works and what does not in your sector.
